A work-life balance isn’t simply measured by balancing the number of hours you spend at work and in “life.” Having balance means truly creating harmony in your life. This harmony is unique to each person. There is not a “one size fits all”. Harmony and balance are not stagnant, it is changing as life is changing. A key element to living in harmony is self-awareness and self-management. Through self-awareness we can identify what is happening in our life, what we currently need, what gives us energy, what drains our energy, what is in our control, and what is not in our control. Remember, if everything is important, then nothing is important. From this foundation of self-awareness, we can create self-management to take ownership of our own daily harmony in a world that is demanding and where everything can seem to be a priority.
