Delegation is a vital key for successful leadership. It is imperative for a leader to delegate to develop their people. Delegation also creates a place for leaders to create capacity for themselves to take on new opportunities and free up mental space to be more strategic. Often, leaders either do not delegate at all (thinking no one can do it as well as they can, or it takes less time to do it themselves) or they “dirty delegate” and only off-load things they just do not want. Neither of these two extremes demonstrates proper delegation in leadership. Effective Delegation requires a leader to know their team members’ strengths, challenges, confidence levels, capacity, and desire for growth. In this session we will uncover not only the importance of delegation, we will also explore techniques to effectively and uniquely delegate for each member on your team.
